Product labels and packaging use cases — Q&A + FAQ
Size and design attractive labels for boxes, jars, candles and product lines.
What sticker size works best for a small candle tin?
Measure the flat top or side area of the exact tin, allowing space around ridges and rounded corners. Use a paper mockup to check whether the brand name and required text are readable. A circular label may fit the lid better than a long rectangular one.
Should I use clear or white labels on kraft-paper packaging?
White vinyl supplies an opaque face material. Clear stickers automatically include a white underbase, while selected transparent areas can reveal the kraft packaging. We can selectively print white beneath color while leaving other areas transparent. Review the intended white separation and test the artwork on actual packaging before choosing the material.
Can a custom sticker seal tissue paper inside a shipping box?
Yes, a sticker can be a decorative closure, provided the adhesive works on the tissue and the required opening behavior is acceptable. Thin tissue may tear when the sticker is removed, so test a sample rather than assuming a removable seal.
What should I measure for a sticker going over a box seam?
Check the seam, fold, and expected movement when the box opens. An adhesive label crossing a moving crease may wrinkle or split. A label placed entirely on one flat panel can be easier to apply and keep presentable.
Can I print ingredients or instructions on very small packaging stickers?
You can include text in the artwork, but it must remain legible at the actual print size. Avoid squeezing regulatory or important information into tiny type. The business ordering the labels is responsible for confirming any applicable labeling requirements.
Can I make matching product labels in different scents or flavors?
Yes. Keep a consistent master layout and provide a separate, clearly named version for each variant. Confirm the exact text, color, quantity, and barcode or SKU for every version to avoid a mix-up in production.
What should I do if a barcode on my product sticker will not scan?
Check the original code data, required quiet area, printed size, contrast, and the actual curved application surface. A code that scans on a monitor may fail when shrunk or wrapped around a small jar. Test a physical sample before printing in bulk.
Can stickers be used as tamper-evident seals?
A normal custom sticker is not automatically tamper-evident. If you need a seal that visibly reveals opening, you need a construction designed and tested for that purpose. Ask about the exact requirement rather than labeling a decorative seal as security packaging.
What is the advantage of ordering label stickers in sheets?
Sheets can be convenient for applying several different labels at a workstation and keeping variants organized. Individually separated stickers are often easier to distribute among multiple packers. Choose the format based on how your team will apply them.
Can a packaging sticker include a website and a QR code together?
Yes, provided there is enough real estate for both to remain readable. Use a short, clearly printed URL as a fallback if the QR code cannot be scanned. Check the final-size artwork and test the destination before approving.
How can I keep packaging labels consistent across a product line?
Create a master layout with fixed logo placement, type sizes, and safe areas, then change only the approved product details. Keep each version clearly named and confirm that the selected material and finish are the same across the run.
Packaging fit and readability
Why does a label that fits a flat template wrinkle on a tapered jar?
A flat design can fit the measured width but still wrinkle when the container narrows from top to bottom. Before ordering, wrap a paper template around the actual jar and check whether the top and bottom edges sit flat. If the surface is noticeably tapered, we can help evaluate a smaller label, adjusted shape, or different placement.
Should a product label cover the full circumference of a bottle?
Not necessarily. A full-wrap label can make the artwork harder to align, especially on a curved or tapered bottle. Start by identifying the front-facing area that stays readable, then test the proposed width with paper. Send us photos and measurements if you are unsure how much space to leave at the seam.
What should I test before ordering labels for refrigerated bottles?
Test the exact bottle material, surface temperature, moisture, and handling conditions. Ordinary sticker specifications should not be treated as a guarantee for condensation or cold-storage use. Try a sample on a clean, dry bottle and check adhesion and readability through the conditions the product will actually experience.
Can one sticker design work on both miniature jars and large boxes?
The same branding can be reused, but a layout that is readable on a box may become too crowded on a small jar. We suggest preparing size-specific versions that preserve your logo while simplifying secondary text where necessary. Keep a consistent master design, then verify each version at its own finished dimensions.
