What is sticker laminate?

Laminate is a top film applied over compatible printed sticker artwork. It can change the visual finish and provide product-specific protection. It is different from the printable base vinyl and from any transfer tape used to apply a cut decal. Compare options on our Laminates & Finishes page.

What's the difference between gloss and matte stickers?

Gloss laminate reflects more light and creates a shinier appearance. Matte has lower sheen and softer reflections. Both can look excellent, but the right choice depends on the artwork, lighting, and how the finished sticker will be used. Neither finish guarantees a particular lifetime without considering the complete construction.

Is satin laminate between gloss and matte?

Satin offers a more restrained sheen than a high-shine finish while retaining more visual reflection than a very flat matte look. If surface appearance is important, compare real samples rather than judging solely by a digital mockup.

What is high-gloss laminate?

High Gloss is an available high-shine finish for compatible materials. It can create a polished appearance and stronger highlights than a more subdued finish. Confirm that the chosen base supports High Gloss before selecting it.

What is cracked ice holographic laminate?

Cracked Ice Holo is a specialty top finish with a faceted, light-catching pattern. It adds an effect over compatible printed artwork rather than changing the original design file. Use bold artwork so the pattern doesn't compete with important fine detail.

What is Galaxy of Stars holographic laminate?

Galaxy of Stars Holo is a patterned specialty laminate that adds a star-like effect to compatible printed stickers. Lighting and viewing angle influence the appearance. It's a fun option for themed artwork, but check compatibility with your selected base.

Do you offer heart or butterfly holographic overlays?

Vinyl Disorder lists holographic Hearts and Butterfly overlay finishes for compatible sticker bases. These change the visible surface pattern, so plan your artwork with enough open space and contrast to let the effect read clearly. See the current finish catalog.

What is dry-erase laminate?

Dry-erase is a functional laminate intended for compatible graphics that need a reusable writing area. Permanent printed design elements remain part of the sticker while designated space can be marked and erased with suitable tools. Ask about the correct construction and maintenance for your intended use.

Can I get a food-safe sticker or table wrap?

Food-related graphics require a specific, documented material and finish for the actual conditions of use. A product or laminate name alone does not certify direct food contact. Tell us whether the graphic will contact food, what cleaning is involved, and where it will be installed so the proper construction can be reviewed.

Do you offer non-slip finishes for floor graphics?

We offer specialized floor-graphic options, but the full base, adhesive, laminate, surface, and intended traffic conditions must be matched. A non-slip finish name alone does not establish suitability for every floor or safety requirement. Ask for an application review when performance requirements matter.

Can any laminate go on any sticker material?

No. Some specialty materials support only particular finishes. For example, the current material catalog identifies gloss-only constructions for some clear, cling, and reflective options. Always use the actual available pairing in the product selector or material catalog.

Does laminate make every sticker waterproof and scratchproof?

No. Laminate may add protection under appropriate conditions, but no finish guarantees resistance to all heat, chemicals, submersion, abrasion, or outdoor exposure. The printed base, adhesive, application surface, and care all matter. Tell us about any demanding use before choosing a finish.

Can the finish affect how my printed colors look?

Yes. Matte, gloss, holographic overlays, and specialty bases can make colors look different under real lighting. Screens also vary, so a digital proof is mainly for layout and artwork review, not a perfect physical-color guarantee. Use our Color Help page or a sample for color-sensitive work.
