FAQs related to item: Custom Vinyl Decal - Single Color

Thanks for your interest in our products! :) Our decals all come with adhesive on them for a perfect application. Email over your images you had in mind as well as the size and we can help with the process if needed.

We absolutely can! We have our custom multi colored die cut decals available here: https://www.vinyldisorder.com/custom-printed-die-cut-decal-oneoff.html#.W6ke3fllCM8 and our full color stickers here: https://www.vinyldisorder.com/custom-sticker-oneoff.html#.W6kfEfllCM8

We do prefer a vector formatted image for all of our decals, and as a single color decal, the vector image can be in any color :) If all you have is a raster format, a 2 color Black-on-White is easiest for our artists to trace, though if the image is too detailed we may still need that vector format, which we can have our artists recreate for a small setup fee.

Decal application is easy! Simply slowly remove the backing paper ensuring that your full decal sticks to the transfer tape. Then apply the decal with the tape to your surface, and smooth it out with your Squeegee or a credit card to help press the decal onto your surface. Then slowly remove the transfer tape and your decal should stick to your surface!

If I order lets say a 24" length sticker what is the maximum width?

How to Install a Decal

At Vinyl Disorder, we make top-quality decals of premium materials and use the latest printing techniques. Our care in producing custom decals and stickers shows in the pride and quality of our craftsmanship. On every decal you get from us, whether for a vehicle, a wall, a window or somewhere else, you'll get a sticker with vivid colors, clear, crisp text and eye-catching graphics.

But our end of the process is only the start of showing off a great vinyl die-cut decal. The rest is up to you. Fortunately, it's quick and easy for even novices to install our vinyl die-cut decals and get professional-looking results. Simply follow these instructions for how to apply a vinyl die-cut decal to see how easy the process really is.

The first thing to do after you receive your new die-cut decal is to inspect the surface you're going to put it on. Clean the surface thoroughly, making sure to remove any dust, dirt or grime. This will help ensure proper adhesion. We recommend to not use any cleaner products that could leave a residue behind like Windex. We recommend just good old rubbing alcohol. All surfaces must be cleaned first even if they look clean, especially walls! If you did just paint your walls please stop as it is best to wait at least 1 month but some paints can take up to 2 months to fully gas out. If you apply a decal too early on a freshly painted wall the gasses will push the decal right off your surface.

Next, smooth out your decal either by hand or with a squeegee, a simple, inexpensive tool available from Vinyl Disorder, to remove any wrinkles or ridges. Even if your decal has been crushed in transit, you'll be surprised at how it will reform back into shape with a little care from you.

Now, put your decal in place. It's a good idea to take measurements, if you want to exactly center your die-cut decal. That will mean using a tape measure to ensure equal distances of the decal's edges from the sides, top and bottom of the surface you're applying it to. Of course, you don't necessarily have to center your decal - although most people do. You can go for your own unique, offbeat look by positioning your decal off center, if you like.

Then, remove the backing from your decal. Press it firmly against the surface you wish to apply it to. Use your hands or a squeegee to remove any wrinkles or small bumps so that the decal lies as flat as possible against the surface.

When your decal is lying smoothly against the surface and looks exactly the way you want it and is where you want it, simply remove the protective front cover. That's it. Your vinyl die-cut decal is ready to turn heads and give you years of service.

Of course, if you have any problems or questions, feel free to call our knowledgeable support staff toll free at Vinyl Disorder. You can also email us or contact us via instant chat. We'll give you helpful answers you can trust.

Decal Installation Tips

If you have a custom decal from Vinyl Disorder that has been crushed during shipping, or if you have a sticking decal, don't panic. Most of the time, there's an easy solution for both of these problems. Follow these steps from Vinyl Disorder to learn how to apply a crushed or sticking decal.

First, inspect your decal. If you discover that it's crushed or sticking, take the following steps. Even if your decal looks crushed beyond repair, don't despair. In most cases, you'll be able to apply these decals so they will give the professional-looking results that you expect from Vinyl Disorder custom decals and custom stickers.

If you're dealing with a crumpled or crushed decal, first, unroll it and lay it flat on a surface. Smooth it out with your hands, and then smooth it out further with a squeegee, an inexpensive tool available from Vinyl Disorder. Make sure to straighten out all creases, bends and wrinkles.

Once the decal looks good, remove its backing and apply it to the surface you want to mount it on. Smooth it down firmly with a squeegee, making sure again to smooth out all wrinkles. When the decal is affixed the way you want it, remove its front protective cover and you're good to go.

If you have a die-cut decal that's sticking and won't come off its backing, don't force it, because you could damage the decal. Rather, zero in on the part that's sticking. Carefully pick at it until you free it from its sticking point.

When the sticking part breaks free, slowly peel the backing off the decal in one smooth move. Put the decal in place, affix it firmly with your hands and fingers, making sure to remove all wrinkles, peaks and valleys. When it looks good, remove the protective cover and use your fingers to smooth any slight imperfections that remain.

Installing a Printed Die Cut Decal

A digital printed die-cut decal can add great looks to any business or organization and also increase foot traffic and customers. If you get your digital printed die-cut decal from Vinyl Disorder, you can be confident that you'll be getting a custom decal made of premium materials and printed with the very latest technology.

To ensure a professional-looking digital printed die-cut decal, however, you must install it correctly. Fortunately, that's a fast and easy job that anyone can do with minimum time and hassle. Here's how.

First, you'll need a few other items in addition to your custom decal. Have a clean cloth, tape measure, some tape and a squeegee on hand. If you don't have a squeegee, you can order one very inexpensively from Vinyl Disorder.

Now, use the cloth to clean the surface to which you'll be applying the decal. Make sure to do a thorough job of cleaning, because the cleaner the surface, the better the decal will stick.

Now, temporarily attach your decal to the surface with tape in the spot you want it to be in. Measure the edges of the decal to the end of the surface you're mounting it on from the sides, top and bottom. For most applications, you'll want to center your decal, so make sure the sides are equidistant from the surface's edges and also the top and bottom.

When you have your decal in exactly the right place, tape one side to the surface, flip the decal back and remove its backing. Now flip it back on the surface and smooth it down with your squeegee. Remove the protective cover and voilà. You now have a professional-looking installation of a digital printed die-cut decal that will look great and give you years of service.
