Behind the artwork / Artist spotlight

Meet Bobby
Draws Skullz.

Skulls. Strange characters. Zero ordinary.

Bobby Brown, the artist behind Bobby Draws Skullz, brings a big personality to small surfaces. His work in this collection mixes expressive skulls, colorful creatures and cartoon chaos - the kind of artwork that makes you stop, look closer, and grin.

We love the attitude in these designs. Pick the one that feels like you, then give your laptop, gear case or favorite smooth surface a little more character.

His artwork reaches well beyond stickers: skate decks, apparel and album covers all carry his linework. His public artist profile ↗ also lists the Joe Kubert Art School in his education. That mix of drawing craft and a wonderfully unruly imagination is part of what makes this collection so much fun to explore.

A graphic with a story

More than a skull.
A whole character.

In a Juice Magazine interview with Jeff Ament and Jim Murphy, skater Kim Petersen describes the Montana Pool Service graphic Bobby created for her pro model. Ament gave Bobby background about her, and Bobby interpreted it as a wrestler with bat wings leaping from the ropes.

It’s a great glimpse of what an artist can bring to a project: an idea becomes a character, and that character becomes something personal. Read Kim’s interview at Juice Magazine ↗ (opens in a new tab)

MEET THE ARTIST / BOBBY BROWN

Big imagination. Unmistakably Bobby.

Bobby Brown, known as Bobby Draws Skulls, brings a wonderful mix of imagination, character and rebellious spirit to his artwork. His skulls and offbeat characters have a personality all their own, the kind of art that makes you stop, smile and look a little closer. We love the energy he brings to the Vinyl Disorder artist collection.

Art with roots in skateboarding and music

Bobby's work lives comfortably in the worlds of skateboarding, band merchandise and independent art. His illustrations have appeared on Ben Raybourn's Steer deck for Metal Skateboards and the Rot On Repeat deck for Deathgear, as well as Flipper's Monster Truck merchandise. These are creative spaces where a distinctive point of view matters, and Bobby brings plenty of his own.

His connection to the music community also extends to independent publishing. InEffect Hardcore credits his artwork for its Know Your Scene feature, which celebrates the people contributing to DIY music culture.

A style worth making room for

What we love about Bobby's art is how much character it carries. There is humor in the strange, personality in the skulls and an unmistakable sense of fun in the unexpected details. It feels right at home on the things people make their own, from a favorite skateboard to a well-traveled gear case.

We are proud to feature Bobby's artwork at Vinyl Disorder and help more people discover his creative world. If something in this collection sparks an idea, we would love to hear it. Bring a rough concept, a story, a project or a few reference images, and start a conversation about artwork that feels personal to you.

His credited work spans skateboard graphics and music merchandise, including projects for Metal Skateboards, Deathgear Skateboards and Flipper merchandise. Explore his work, follow along, and bring us an idea that deserves a little of Bobby's creative spirit.
